Vino Rosso La Graziosa Dacastello and Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Annibale d.o.c. Le Clivie have both been awarded the double gold medal at the world’s most important wine and spirits competition in which all the judges are women: the Women’s Wine and Spirits Awards 2023.

The Women’s Wine and Spirit Awards is an annual contest judged by a jury of leading women buyers in the wine and spirits industry. The awards are organised by Peak Publishing, an organisation which also promotes the China Wine and Spirit Awards, the European Wine Challenge and the Asia Wine Challenge, among others.

Women’s increasing influence in the wine world is in absolutely no doubt. The figures confirm it.

According to a study conducted by Vinexpo, in 2022 80% of wine was purchased by women and 60% was consumed by women.

“Women are transforming the marketing of wine”, says the WWSA, creating a global impact at the very highest levels.

And it based on this knowledge that the Women’s Wine and Spirits Awards were founded.

This year’s all-female jury blind tasted a record number of samples from 19 countries all over the world. The tastings were held in London and Hong Kong, and resulted in the final assignment of double gold, gold, silver and bronze medals.

The double gold medals assigned to Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Annibale d.o.c. Le Clivie and Vino Rosso La Graziosa Dacastello are an honour.
