5StarWines – the Book is the wine selection event organized by Veronafiere and held every year in the days immediately preceding Vinitaly, the most important international wine fair in the world.

Each year, over two thousand wines are tasted by a jury of international experts, who assigns a score and prepares a tasting note in English for each wine. The tasting lasts three days and culminates in the publication of the guide “5StarWines – the Book”, a collection of all the wines that received a score equal to or greater than 90/100.

Denomination of Origin wines (PDO for EU countries),

Geographical Indication (PGI for EU countries, PGI), generic

wines with an indication of vintage and/or grape variety (art. 55 of

EC Regulation n. 607/2009) and quality sparkling wines, as well

as those from non-EU countries regulated by OIV international

standards are admissible.

Participating wines are assigned to one of five categories

of white, rosé and red wines:

• still wines white, rosé, red

• semi-sparkling wines white, rosé, red

• sparkling wines white, rosé, red

• sweet wines white, rosé, red

• fortified wines white, rosé, red

In this year's edition of the competition, two wines from Dacastello Vini Pregiati were awarded:

Roero Arneis D.O.C.G. 'Le Clivie', which received 91 points and

Barbera d'Alba D.O.C. 'Le Clivie', which received 93 points.
